Bruno replaces Janice Allen who had served in the position for over 30 years. When 'Mrs. Allen' was appointed she replaced Tom Speirto and at the time was the librarian at the Paine Memorial Library. "It seemed to be a natural" she states. "The library seemed to be the depository for items of local historical significance. I enjoyed it while I was doing it and I know Ron is a natural." she added.
When Janice was the town historian she attended a seminar and was asked "What are you doing to preserve your history?" She said from then on she has created scrapbooks of news paper articles that pertain to Willsboro. Since 1970 she has created volumes of books that include any and all news items, birth and death notices and articles from out-of-town papers that feature anything about Willsboro or its citizens. The 'volumes' can be located at the Willsboro Heritage Center and Museum. Janice continues to collect newspaper stories for the museum.
