by a group of local volunteers seeking to create a place of remembrances and reflection of loved ones lost. The garden has started with the development of a labyrinth. Known as a tool to process grief, the act of walking a circuitous path, which turns left and right can feel like rocking a cradle and gives comfort. Benches, flowers and a gazebo or planned for the next phase. Ultimately, the group is seeking funds to purchase an Angel of Hope statue.
According to Larry Allen, co-organizer of the project, "the community has been very generouse." speaking of financial and material donations that the group has received. "We are very thankful for what we have received, but we are still short of our goal." he added. The group has enough to create the landscaping, but are lacking funds to purchase the Angel of Hope statue. Allen encourages anyone interested in donating their time to contact him at 518-572-6659.
