If you see a pick-up truck around town with bags of onions hanging out the back, you have found Ed Collins. Ed has been selling Vadalia Onions for the Shriners for many years and has become well know in the area around this time of year.

The authentic Georgia grown onions sell for $6 a bag with the procedes to benefit burned children.

Ed Collins (88), has been a Shriner for 35 years and is well known for his 'sales tactics' around the area. You can find Ed parked at one of the local business establishments or in his Essex Road drive way.  Wayne Bailey commented that he and Ed joind the Shriners at the same time, both members of the NORCO Shrine Club. Bailey also stated that Collins is the top seller for the Temple for several years running. Last year Ed sold over 1,900 pounds - more than any other member from the Canadian Boarder to the Capital District.

To reach Ed Collins at home dial 963-8928.
