The Town may soon be confronted with the prospect of having the dam at Willsboro Falls removed or significantly lowered. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has recently notified Essex County’s Soil and Water Department as well as Willsboro Town officials that they are launching an assessment review for the Boquet River dam removal.
On Saturday, September 22nd, Champlain Area Trails is partnering with the Town of Willsboro to develop a trail at the town’s recreation park on Route 22, across the road and a little west of Noblewood Park.
Work is progressing on schedule according to Eli Schwartzberg, owner of the "old school" property located in downtown Willsboro. The asbestos has been removed from the main building and will soon be completed in the 1950's section.
There will be a presentation on the new New York State SAFE Act at the Willsboro School on Thursday April 18th at 6 p.m. Essex County Sherriff's Department will be on hand to answer questions from the public. The presentation is sponsored by the Willsboro Fish and Game Club and will focus on the new law as it pertains to guns, ammunition and magazines. The ice on the Boquet moved out late Tuesday night with no noticeable damage or incidents. Ironically almost 100 years to the day of the Great Flood of March 13 of 1913.

The Willsboro Golf Club hosted their 2012 annual club championship recently but the title winner remained the same. Brandon Jaquish took the tittle for a second year. Jaquish beat the former two-time winner Brandon Smith by just one stroke. Arnie Provost won the net-division title for the club over Brad Paye by five strokes.
The new town tennis courts are now open to the public. The two courts were completed last fall in the new recreation park located on the Essex Road.
The January organizational meeting of the Willsboro Town Board produced a few changes for 2012.
