For a small town library, the Paine Memorial Free Library certainly meets the need of the community in the area of hours. Below are our hours of operation along with the nine legal holidays which we currently recognize:

 Monday 9 am - 5 pm
Tuesday 9 am to 5 pm
Wednesday 9 am - 7 pm
Thursday 9 am to 5 pm
Friday 9 am to 5 pm
Saturday 9 am to 2 pm
Sunday Closed

Story Hour - Held on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Held during the school year for 3 year olds.

Friends of the Library - Second Thursday of the month every other month. January, March, May, July, September,and November.

 

Art Shows - Summer months see events calendar for details.

 

Summer reading programs

 

Story Hour on Fridays 9:30 - 11:00 am for 3-5 year olds runs for six weeks. Registration required. Call the library at 518-963-4478.

 

Reading assistance - Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 12:00 am. Registration required. Call the library at 518-963-4478. Half hour and one hour slots.

 

Noblewood reading program. Available to all Willsboro youth registered for the Town summer program.

 

Lectures and Music- See events calendar for scheduled dates.

 

Book Sales - We have three books sales each year. One in June, we have a table at the Folk Craft Fair, and our large sale in August. See ourevents calendar for date.

 

Folk Craft Fair "a celebration of things don well by hand". This has become a community event in Willsboro. It is always held on the last Saturday in July. Artisans of every craft display their products. Music and food are also available. All door donations go toward new book purchases for the library. See our events calendar for the date.

 

Golf Scramble is held in early July each year. This is a four person scramble played from the best ball position. There are over $2000. prizes given away. See our events calendar for specific date.

 

Holiday Craft Sale- Held in early December, this sale gives local people a place to do their holiday shopping. 20% benefits the library. See our events calendar for date.

An account about the Library as it appeared in a NY Libraries Magazine in August 1931 The Paine Memorial Library, Willsboro One of the most beautiful library buildings in the State is the Paine Memorial Library at Willsboro, which was opened to the public in August 1930. It is the gift of Augustus G. Paine of New York, a summer resident of Willsboro for more than 40 years, built in memory of his mother.
